Qatar Open winner Dom Barrett, Viper Championship runner-up Ryan Ciminelli, Tom Smallwood and Brian Kretzer will battle in the ESPN-televised stepladder finals of this Sunday’s Chameleon Championship at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN from the South Point Hotel and Casino Exhibition Hall complex.

In the third of seven World Series of Bowling V telecasts, the finalists will be competing on the 43-foot Chameleon lane conditioning pattern using the revolutionary blue oil that gives fans a visual reference of oil patterns and how players attack the lane conditions.

After a disappointing runner-up finish in last Sunday’s PBA Viper Championship presented by PBA Bowling Challenge, Ciminelli returns for his second consecutive TV appearance bowling against Smallwood in the opening match. Ciminelli, the winner of the 2011 Earl Anthony Memorial and Smallwood, the 2009 PBA World Championship winner, will be trying to win their second Tour title.

Ciminelli’s hopes for victory in the Viper Championship were dashed when he left a 7-10 split in the 10th frame of his 230-212 title match loss to Chris Barnes.

The winner of the Ciminelli-Smallwood match will take on Kretzer whose only title came in the 2010 GoRving Match Play Championship. He’ll be trying to improve on season-high finishes of eighth in the USBC Masters and ninth in the Bear Open.

The semifinal winner will meet Barrett, who won the Qatar Open that concluded Tuesday, and the Viper Championship during WSOB III.

This week’s PBA League Challenge contest is “Obstacle Bowling” where seven rubber pins will be strategically placed on the lane and the eight PBA League franchise players will have three shots to bowl through or around the obstacles to knock down as many pins as possible.

Leading the PBA League Challenge point standings after two of four events are: 1 (tie), Pete Weber, New York City WTT KingPins, and Bill O’Neill, Philadelphia Hitmen, 17.5 points; 3, Jason Belmonte, L.A. X, 16; 4 (tie), Chris Barnes, Silver Lake Atom Splitters; Norm Duke, Dallas Strikers, and Sean Rash, BROOKLYN STyLES, 12; 7, Mike Fagan, Motown Muscle, 9.5 points; 8, Osku Palermaa, Pittsburgh Jack Rabbits, 3.5 points.
