Kelly Kulick a Contender in Women's Sports Foundation's Sportswoman of the Year

Just in case you're not yet Facebook friends with PBA Deputy Commissioner and COO Tom Clark and did not receive his wall post asking bowling fans to vote, here is a link that allows you to vote for our own Kelly Kulick for the Women's Sports Foundation's Sportswoman of the Year.

Kulick is one of ten individual sport nominees (there are also ten from team sports) for the prestigious award, a list that includes several olympians, a golfer, a track and field champion, a sailor and some tennis player named Serena. Although, I'd personally never knock the accomplishments of any of these fine athletes, after reading all of their bios, I can conclude that none of the nominees went beyond the gender barrier in their respective sports to emerge victorious against the top men (as Kelly did when she won the T of C back in January).

And none of these ladies exhibited absolute dominance (as Kelly did) by winning every possible one of their sport's major championships. Let's face it, what Kelly Kulick achieved during the '09-'10 season (the award is given for performances spanning the period between August 1, 2009 and July 31, 2010) is simply one of the most outstanding season performances in the history of any sport. There is absolutely no doubt that she deserves to be named as the recipient of the Sportswoman of the Year based on her dominant and transcendent accomplishments.

And you can help ensure that Kelly does win by casting your vote now. As Tom Clark said in his Facebook post, "it only takes a couple seconds" (which I can attest to since I cast my own vote just a little while ago). Click here now to vote for Kelly Kulick.

Award winners will be announced on October 12, 2010, and honored at the Annual Salute to Women in Sports Awards Dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.
