To help commemorate its 50th anniversary season, the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) today announced that it is offering a new online auction site featuring signed PBA memorabilia.
Bowling fans worldwide can own a piece of history by bidding on unique game-used autographed items directly from the PBA Tour and its players. Items include bowling balls, jerseys, score cards, pin sweeps and photos.
The PBA has partnered with FansDepot and Truition to create the online auction which can be found at http://auction.pba.com/.
“The PBA is delighted to be able to make these popular items available to our fans,” said PBA Commissioner and CEO Fred Schreyer. “The online auction provides an opportunity for PBA fans throughout the world to access items used by their favorite bowlers and to feel even more a part of the Lumber Liquidators Tour.”
“We feel greatly honored to work with the PBA and to bring this existing program to the large PBA fan base,” said Doug Stapleton, president of FDI USA, the parent company of FansDepot. “In conjunction with the PBA’s 50th Anniversary, the new online auction site is aimed to help build the brand for the PBA, to develop the PBA collector base and to bring the fans closer to the stars of the PBA.”
“Trution is pleased to provide the PBA the best auction technology and services providing their fans easy access to bid online for unique ‘one of a kind’ items and services safely and securely directly from the league and its vendors,” said Kevin Smith, Director of Business Development at Truition. “The PBA joins a growing list of sports leagues and franchises – including the NFL, MLB and the NHL -- that want the ability to auction items directly to their fans through their own branded auction site where they can control not only the fan experience but insure quality and authenticity.”
