For the second consecutive week, Walter Ray Williams Jr. and Pete Weber will face off in the Round of 8 for the right to bowl in the live ESPN-televised finals.
Williams and Weber each won their Round of 16 matches Friday afternoon to set up a Round of 8 match-up in the 2007 Etonic Championship at AMF Thruway Lanes at 7 p.m. This will be the third consecutive week the two great legends have faced each other, following last week's Round of 8 match in the 2007 Motor City Classic and their losers bracket match in the 2007 USBC Masters.
Unfortunately for Weber, the rivalry has been one-sided lately as Williams has defeated Weber six consecutive times over the last three seasons, including twice in title matches.
Williams swept Weber in four games last week after knocking him out of the Masters with a 653-620 losers' bracket win. He defeated Weber for wins No. 41 and 42, defeating Weber in the 2006 Denny's World Championship title match and the Dydo Japan Cup 2006 title match.
Below is a look at their last six matches. In those six wins for Williams, he averaged 243.04 while Weber managed just a 211.86 average.
