This weekend ESPN Classic will help kick off the upcoming 2007-08 Denny’s PBA Tour with a Pete Weber marathon on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. ET.
Weber picked out his 10 favorite performances and will personally introduce each show. The marathon features matches ranging from his first title in 1982 as a 19-year-old, to his Triple Crown clinching win in the 1989 Trustcorp PBA National Championship to his record-tying eighth career Major in last season’s 64th U.S. Open.
Tune in this Saturday to ESPN Classic to watch Weber’s 10 favorite wins. Below is the complete schedule.
10 a.m. - 1997 Comfort Inn Classic
Weber defeated tournament leader Parker Bohn III in the title match of the Comfort Inn Classic, 257-208, to earn his second title of the year and the 23rd of his storied career.
11 a.m. - 2006 Etonic Championship
Weber won his 33rd career Denny’s PBA Tour title, knocking off local favorite Doug Kent, 247-196, to win the 2006 Etonic Championship at AMF Thruway Lanes.
Noon - 2001 Great Lakes Classic
Weber defeated Parker Bohn III in the championship match, 235-201, and earned his 26th career title which tied him for sixth all-time with his legendary father, Dick Weber, and PBA Hall of Famer Don Johnson.
1 p.m. - 2004 Medford Open
In one of the highest scoring finals in recent history, Weber defeated Tommy Delutz Jr., 265-256, in the PBA Medford Open at Lava Lanes.
2 p.m. - 64th U.S. Open
Weber defeated Wes Malott, 210-204, to win the 64th U.S. Open, his fourth career U.S. Open crown and record-tying eighth career Major title. The win also put Weber in a tie with Mark Roth for third on the all-time titles list with his 34th career Denny’s PBA Tour title.
3 p.m. - 1989 Trustcorp PBA National Championship
Weber captured the final jewel of professional bowling's "Triple Crown" with his 221-216 victory against Dave Ferraro in the $280,000 Trustcorp PBA National Championship. The $54,000 win also was Weber's 12th PBA title and made him just the third player in PBA history to complete the "Triple Crown," joining the prestigious company of Johnny Petraglia and Billy Hardwick.
4 p.m. - 2001 Greater Louisville Open
Weber won his second title of the year to reach a milestone in the Greater Louisville Open while capturing his 27th PBA title by defeating Michael Haugen Jr. in the title match, 289-279.
5 p.m. - 1987 Firestone Tournament of Champions
The 24-year-old Weber, the PBA's youngest 10-time champion, clinched the Firestone Tournament of Champions via four championship round victories. Weber topped leading qualifier Jim Murtishaw, 222-190, to become the first player to advance from the fifth-seeded position and notch the Firestone.
6 p.m. - 1982 Greater Hartford Open
The 19-year-old Weber came from third place, rolling 674 for three matches including a 210-199 final-game win over Pete McCordic.
7 p.m. - 2005 PBA Bowlersparadise.com Classic
With thoughts of his late father on his mind, Weber snapped a 26-event winless streak which dated back to Feb. 2004, and defeated Ryan Shafer in the title match of the 2005 BowlersParadise.com Classic, 189-186.
