Steve Miller became a member of the PBA Board of Directors September 1, 2005 after serving as PBA President and CEO for five years. During his time as President and CEO, the PBA’s revenues grew by double digits each year while expenses rose just four-percent per season.
Prior to the PBA, Miller spent nine years with Nike, retiring as Director of Global Sports Marketing Relations in September 2000. In addition, Miller served as Director of Athletics at Kansas State University, where he expanded university athletic facilities and helped to turn one of the country's most losing football programs into the third winningest team throughout the 1990s.
He currently sits on the Board of Directors of numerous organizations, and has spoken at over 100 universities and businesses throughout the world on topics ranging from Motivation to Executive Leadership.
Miller is a former track and field star who was drafted to play professional football for the NFL Detroit Lions. He was named NCAA Coach of the Year five times, and is a member of three sports Halls of Fame. He has a BS degree in English Literature and Physical Education from Bradley University, an MA in Contemporary English Literature from Governors State University, and an MS in Physical Education with an emphasis in Biomechanical Analysis from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
