Fred Schreyer became PBA President and CEO on September 1, 2005 after serving as PBA Commissioner for over two years. Schreyer oversees all aspects of the PBA’s business operations and maintains primary responsibility for the negotiation of sponsorship agreements and financial arrangements.
Schreyer has been with the PBA full-time since October, 2002, when he became Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel, but has been affiliated with the league since September, 2000 as its legal counsel.
Schreyer has over 25 years in the sports industry including Director of Sports Marketing at Nike from 1987-1992 and the founder of Nike's Sports Management division in 1992.
Schreyer was a member of the law firm of Rosenfeld, Meyer & Susman in Beverly Hills from 1979-1987 before moving on to his seven-year career at Nike. He was the Founding Partner and Owner of Pyramid Sports in which he served as a consultant to many of the leading companies in the sports business (Logo Athletic, Met-Rx, adidas and Arizona State University) and represented athletes in a variety of sports (Troy Aikman, Jason Williams, LeBron James, Gary Payton, Richard Jefferson, Natalie Williams and Tiffeny Milbrett).
Schreyer received a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan in 1975 and received his J.D. degree from UCLA School of Law in 1978.
